Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you so much for the support you've showed me! I will always be so grateful for you guys. It's been a great week, besides the fact I got sick midway through. I have this wierd cold thing. My snot never ends. Sorry.. probably too much information, but it's annoying. We did a lot of different things this past week even though we were on foot again!
A miracle on Monday started off our week so strong. We didn't know we weren't going to have the car this week so we had planned people after p-day in further areas so we had to decide what we wanted to do instead. We felt prompted to just start walking. So we walked down a few streets. and then we found the Locray's. A family of 5. Although some of them are a little tougher, their is a 14 year old named Shane who is so golden if his family would just be supportive. We taught all of themTuesday the Restoration and we will be teaching them Plan of Salvation this Wednesday. Shane couldn't stop reading and looking at the Book of Mormon as we taught last week. And he shared with us that he really liked the story about the boy that was going to different churches and then prayed and saw Jesus. We keep praying that we will continue to help him progress. We're so excited! Kids are so close to the Spirit.
We also taught Star and Alyce this week! Hilary wasn't there sadly, but we'll get her next week. We had the Relief Society Prez with us which was great. She was very supportive of them and showed them plenty of love without suffocating. Elder Dunn basically said I'll be transferred in a couple of weeks so we better start transferring them to their home ward soon. I'm going to miss them so much! But I still have a couple of weeks. I'll keep you updated.
We had Zone Conference on Friday which was awesome. President and Sister Vest both trained, as well as the mission presidency and the Assistants. President Vest focused on a lot on the importance of being 'Pure Vessels' so that we can teach by the Spirit. I have such a strong testimony in that. President Hepworth, the first counseler, talked about David and his his experience with Bathsheba. When David saw Bathsheba on the roof, he could have looked away. But instead, he stared. And then soon after, sought after her. We have a choice. Although we are surrounded by temptation, we are given the agency, opportunity, and responsibility to act upon it or not. David recognized his sin and went to the Lord to repent of it. To change his heart. Let's let Him change ours too.

I love you all! Thank you for your love and example! My mission is the best. Hope you have a great week!

Love,
Sister Penman

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you so much for the emails and letters! I am so excited to hear that so many of my friends back at home are going on missions. I just want Kaylin Brown to know that I'm so excited for her to go to Florida! You're going to love it! Something that I have noticed recently is the huge blessing it is to be a part of the hastening of the work. I know that with all of these boys and girls serving missions, the church is going to continue to strengthen and grow in these latter-day days. As well as completely bless our families! As more men and women serve, our homes are going to be a place of safety and refuge, where kids can further understand the Doctrine of Christ! Which has been the focus in our mission the last month or so and was the theme of Zone training this last Friday (Building the Lord's Kingdom on Earth). I trained on the Standard of Baptism and how our missionary purpose relates to building up the Lord's Kingdom. It's kind of funny to see the things that you are capable of when you rely on the Savior. Never thought I would be where I am now.
I hope that everyone is having a great last bit of summer! My mom got married this last week and I'm so happy for her! I'm glad we just have this month left of wet humid weather. They say the summer has been mild, but I'm still grateful I get to experience two winters... I turn 20 this month which is also kind of crazy. Anyway. Done being random haha.
This week has been really amazing! Not quite as good as far as numbers, but I was able to go to Leadership council on Wednesday and it was an amazing experience to be in a room again where the Spirit is so strong as we teach each other how we can help the people we are teaching. President and Sister Vest are so inspired. I know they are meant to serve here. Sister Sommer and I told Sister Vest that she should have sister assistants, and that we would volunteer to help haha. She said she had been praying about that for a while now! haha She's so much fun.
We also were able to teach Star, Alyce, and Hilary. 3 sisters that are in their 40's, all trying to come back to church! I love them so much. They had a lot of random questions that we were able to answer. The crazy part was that most of the questions that they had asked, are answered in Lesson 1: the Restoration. It is so comforting when the Spirit continues to testify to you of the truthfulness of our message. As we share our testimony of the Restoration, the Spirit will be bounced back to us. We will be strengthened. They are now trying to make the step to attend church next Sunday. Alyce said she was also thinking alot about her 13 year old son and the importance of him being baptized. Hopefully we will be able to teach him soon as well! :) I'm so grateful to be called on a mission. Miracles will happen depending upon our obedience, our love for our investigators, and are willingness to ask for them. I love you all! Have a great week! Peacee outtt

Dear Everyone,

Sorry I don't have a lot of time today because we're going to have a sweet P-day. I had a great week. Last minute the Elders told us Monday that Elder Rasmussen was taking away out full-time car, so we we were on foot this week. Which was not bad at all. It forced us to get down to the pavement and do some serious Finding. Although it wasn't the most successful week, I learned a lot of lessons.
One morning during our lunch, we decided to take a little nap the other day and then right in the middle of it, we heard a knock on our door. It was the Jehovah's Witnesses... I was so mad they interrupted my nap. But they were nice. They invited me to get a free bible online. I thought that was nice.
And then the same day, there were 3 grown men, one of them being a preacher of a very large baptist church, that were tried to bible bash us. They told us that we believe in the wrong Jesus Christ and that we are going to go to hell. One of them told me that what I was doing was not awesome.. WELL YOU KNOW WHAT BUDDY I THINK IT'S PRETTY AWESOME SHARING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. But we left soon after. But I definitely didn't leave that situation without bearing my testimony.
Don't get me wrong the rest of the week was really good :) I'm so grateful for the knowledge we get to share with people. Although it's easy to find people that aren't interested, it makes it even more worth while, when you meet people that have been searching for these answers for a long time. I love this Gospel and the plan Heavenly Father has placed before us. I'll be the first one to stand out and hold on to the iron rod. Thank you for your love and prayers. Have a great week! Love you!
