Dear Family and Friends,
I almost put 2013.... man. Time is going by too fast, but I'm doing all I can to keep up with it! Today Sister Bradshaw and I were blessed to go to the temple. I was able to see the Camden's from Clinton, Sis. Neuburger from Overland Park, the Tubb's, Stewart's, and Sis. Alexander from North Kansas City. I felt like I was in heaven seeing so many people I love in one place. It's gotta be something similar to feeling to the joy I've felt today and this last year. At the close of this year, I just want to reflect on the miracles I've seen and the sorrows I've learned from. Life is too good to focus on the negative. I am continually seeing myself change by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He really has to be patient with me... thank goodness He's perfect at that!
Transfers are next Thursday. I'm not sure what will happen! I almost want to pray that I will stay another transfer, especially because I think 3 of our investigators will be baptized, and many of the couples in the ward, I've fallen in love with, will be sealed in the KC Temple. But I have to keep telling myself 'thy will be done' because it's not my work. It's the Lord's and it must go on! Sister Bradshaw and I love being each others companions! We have seen so many miracles recently. This past week, the Thackeray's in our ward told us one of their 20ish year old daughters had an old friend from high school contact her and ask if she could meet with missionaries because 'a youtube family she really loves is Mormon and they keep telling their subscribers to learn about the Gospel'. So sweet! We're meeting with her (Katelyn) tonight! I'll tell you next week how it goes :) Also, we met with a part-member family in our ward and we are going to be teaching them and their daughters next Monday! Seriously you guys, I feel so humbled at what is happening in the ward right now. It just testifies to me that this is the work of the Lord. No matter what happens, when people are prepared, the Lord will find a way for them to hear the restored Gospel!
Thank you so much for the Christmas cards, letters, and love! It's been a great 2nd Christmas on my mission. Mostly because I got to spend the whole day with people I love, caroling to the sick, less active, and elderly, sharing messages about the Saviors' birth,
life, and legacy, and eating Mexican food of course. I pray that at this time of the year you will all think of a goal or two that will help strengthen your family, your testimony, or your faith in Jesus Christ. I know as you do, you will be a beacon of light to those around you. Stay safe and warm out there. Missouri has been really cold, and has only had 3 days of sun all December long... It's all good though. The church is true! Love you!
Love,
Sister Penman
